Last Night Blues!!!

Hi Folks,Sorry we’re so late in posting a Blog (obviously it’s Mrs Ring tonight – as all the children are tucked up in bed at this time!)  We’ve been having trouble with the intenet tonight!!!  Sorry – no pictures tonight due to uploading difficulties!

We awakened to a winter wonderland this morning – about 4 inches of snow and a visit from the snow plough to clear the main road!!!!  Anyway that didn’t stop us from having a brilliant day.  Weasling was cancelled due to the weather but a high ropes activity was on schedule instead!  Miss Barclay was a huge fan of the climbing harness – much to the children’s delight!!!!

A small group of children even made their very own igloo and would have even slept there tonight if they had got the chance!!!

It was games night tonight and the competitive children amongst us loved every minute!  Connect 4, Jenga, Quoits and even Twister made an appearance – luckily i was in charge of connect 4!!!!

Dinner was another highlight – sweet and sour chicken was on the menu – which was fab!!!!  I would imagine that some take-away menus may be required tomorrow night!!!!!

Looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow at about 2.30 p.m.  I’ll telephone the school when we are nearly home!!!!!

Day 3 by Aaron Miller.

Day 3 had a cold start and a surprising freezing of the loch!!! You would have thought that this would have stopped the canoeing activities, well think again!!Today my group became the polar explorers breaking the ice with our paddles as we sailed through Loch Long. After a few games we came out of the Loch and into warm interior of Ardmay House to have our lunch.Later we started to get ready for abseiling, when we had our special clothing on we got into the mini bus and journeyed to the forest. We climbed up and down the rocky cliffs and when we had all finished our climb we again came into toasty Ardmay to have our dinner! I enjoyed dinner very much and afterwards we had a quiz about the enviroment around Ardmay. Speak to you soon for day 4!!!

Day 2 Update!!

Well believe it or not – it never snows in Ardmay!!!!  Blue skies smiling at us all day long – it was minus 3 mind you!!!

A brilliant morning – all teachers greeted with dorm Songs, chants and even dances!  Watch out for some films appearing on this blog (when we figure out how to do it!

Children all having a ball!  We’ve had a busy day- climbing, abseiling and even canoeing on the beautiful Loch Long!  The weaseling proved fun for everyone – including Miss Boyd and Miss Barclay who managed to squeeze themselves into tiny little spaces!   Mrs Ring was on hand with the camera (how fly????)!!!!!   Children all safely emerged from the ‘dragon’s mouth’ having travelled through the belly and the  ……… (i’ll let you work out the last place!)

We did have to force some of the children to have a shower today and JR’s Hair Studio was ever popular – i’ll make a note to charge next year!!!!

Nice dinner too – sausages, beans and mash or macaroni cheese!   You’d think the P7′s had never seen food before – with many having seconds and thirds!!  Table monitors are managing fine, clearing plates an setting the tables - i think some will be applying for jobs in the Hilton after

Tonight was the quiz night and the star prize was ‘first dorm to go bed’!!!!  Everyone is desperate to ‘hit the sheets’ tonight after an exciting first night!

Nite Nite to all – catch up tomorrow!

Children have arrived safe and sound!

Children arrived at around 2pm, following almost a wee detour to Castle Toward!  Staff started to get a bit confused when the bus was heading in the wrong direction!

Children went on a super Forest Adventure Walk this afternoon and are now in their teams with their special guide for the week.  Mrs Ring said all the children were wet and a bit tired.  Looking forward to tea time.  She also said that Ardmay House is absolutely lovely and very clean!  Mr Murray will update the blog with some pictures.  So log on tomorrow for an update!  Mrs Q

Who had the biggest suitcase?

The children of P7 left for Ardmay this morning at 9.45am.  Very few tears and lots of smiles.  Mrs Ring appears to have broken the rules by having 2 big pink suitcases!!!!  All well so far!
